Peeling garlic can be a real chore if you don’t know how to do it property. It’s tempting to use bottled garlic, but there is no substitute for fresh garlic. Try this quick and easy method and you’ll be happy to use fresh garlic in all your dishes:
1. To separate the cloves of garlic, place the head of garlic point side down on a working surface and press firmly.
2. Take a clove and trim off each end.
3. Place a large wide knife (such as a chef’s knife) horizontally over the clove. Using the heel of your hand, press the knife down firmly (but not too hard) onto the garlic clove. The garlic should crack a bit, making it easy to remove the skin.
4. Pull the skin off – too easy.
